Happy Get Your Kicks Tuesday

Today we thought I thought I would take you back in time and show you highlights from Daddy's and Mama's visit to the Route 66 Diner!

Route 66 runs right through downtown and is a big part of Albuquerque's history!  You might remember Mama and I visiting Route 66 in Arizona
(you can read more about that visit HERE)

Here is a picture of the Diner from the outside.
This diner started as a Phillips 66 gas station in 1946.  After awhile they added a mechanic's bay to help service the cars traveling the, then heavily traveled, Route 66.

In 1987, they refinished it and turned it into a Diner!!

It is filled with all kinds of fun Route 66 paraphernalia!

Look at this cool gas pump they had inside!

Not only did they have things inside, but they had tons of memorabilia outside too.

A whole wall full of old Route 66 and highway signs is right next to the restaurant!

There was even a crop of bumpers!!
BOL!!

Mama and Daddy said the food was pretty good too!!

Next time I hope they bring some home for ME!!

Here is a video of  ALL the pictures Mama took

You can also watch it HERE, on YouTube

  4. Maybe one day we will make it to Route 66. We are starting to venture out farther from home and we love to travel. There are nose work trials all over the country.

  12. Lulu: "What a funky diner! Dada says it reminds him of a place they used to go here, the Corvette Diner, before it moved out of the old building it was in and into a new building, where it mostly looks like a cafeteria now ..."
