This is for Xena and Chia who were wondering what the hummers ate when they weren't at the feeders....
Don't get me wrong, they are mostly at the feeders...
For example, here is a short movie showing some of our "guests"
(or maybe we should call them summer squatters?)
fluttering at the feeders:
You can also watch it HERE, on our YouTube Channel
Can you see all the pollen on his long beak?!
This time of year though, they mostly keep Mama busy rinsing their feeders and making them their sugar water diet daily....
Maybe it's Mama that's silly....and not the birds?
BOL
oh that is sugar for the eyes too... but with zero calories... we love your humming berds...

ReplyDeleteSuch gawjuss squatters to have! Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
Mom loves to see them but we don't have any feeders so they only come by once and a big while and flit around our flowers.
ReplyDeleteThey are just the most beautiful little birds!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the hummers with us.
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY DOGS. Niece Rosy Aunty is in awe.
ReplyDeleteI love x 87 hummingbirds. This time of year ours are quite good at 'air dancing'. I don't know why they won't share the feeders have 6 feeding spots but nope they just won't sip sugar water at the same time. I did see the pollen on that precious little beak
Hugs Aunty C
flutterery flittery both fit the video and they are darling..
ReplyDeleteWe just love to see all your hummingbirds.
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "We don't think your mom is silly."
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "In fact we would like to hire her to come and attract more hummingbirds here."
Charlee: "We would gladly pay her in things we steal from Mama and Dada, such as pens and binder clips and ribbons."
Love seeing you and love hummingbirds.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥
Those hummingbirds are so amazing!
ReplyDeleteMom oves watching the hummers, but we haven't been able to draw any here yet. Maybe just one time last year. What does your mama put in the feeder? Mom gets some fancy nectar at the garden shop but it doesn't seem to work.

WOW, your hummers are something! I wish we had some here to watch. You sure look adorable sweet Rosy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that picture, Rosy. After we read your last hummer post, we bugged Mom to Google hummingbirds and she found all kinds of interesting stuff, like they'll eat bugs, too! I used to eat little ants when I was a puppy. They were tasty and full of protein! XOX XeXe
ReplyDeleteMommy loves to sit at the kitchen table and look over the garden where the hummingbirds play
