Today we have some more fun Las Vegas history to share with you all. Have we mentioned how thankful we are to be able to visit these fun and interesting places?
On July 4th in 1879, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railroads arrived in Las Vegas, NM from the north. This helped Las Vegas land on the map and become one of the bigeest rail towns between Missouri and San Francisco, CA. But, with a bigger population came more crime...
The "Dodge City Gang", a so called band of peace officers, was said to have lived in, and run, Las Vegas for a bit around 1880. During this era, the east side of town became "virtually lawless"
This attracted other notorious names, among those who visited or called Las Vegas their home were
Now they can add the most notorious of all,

ReplyDeleteOoo, Sunny, you look like a bad dog in that picture. Are you carrying a gun? (Good job!) XOXOX Chia
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour, ladies. Dad has been watching a series of shows that talk about the true history of people like the guys you named above in the wild West. He's also watching some old black and white cowboy shows. He likes them because some of his old relatives moved from Finland and Cornwall to these areas in the mid-1800s.
