Flowery Nature Friday and PSA

Happy Nature Friday!!!
Labor Day here means the morning are a nice and cool, but the afternoons are still toasty and in the mid 90sF(Mid 30sC). This week, Mama took a morning walk at the Botanical Gardens to see what was blooming!

The Goldenrod is blooming...Mama's nose noticed that even before
she saw it BOL!

There are still so many roses blooming too!
Here is a pretty orange one

and a lovely yellow rosebud with pink edges!

But wait, there are even MORE roses!
The rest of them are in my favorite color...
PINK!

Pink layers....

Pink edged...

Last, but not least, pink edged with a yellow middle
...and pretty water droplets!

Now for our PSA. Mama is going crazy packing everything and Daddy is making sure CeCe is in tip top shape because tomorrow, bright and early, we leave for a week long trip to the Rocky Mountains!

We are not sure if we will have internet service. If we do, we will try and send out a post card next week. With the wonderful magic of pre-posting, we will have Nature Friday set up for September 15th.

We hope you all get to get out and have fun in nature this week and we'll be back to regular posting, Tuesday September 19th.

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

Ducks and Yellow Flowers

 Happy Nature Friday!!!
With only one more week until our next adventure, and fun pictures of US and nature together, this Friday and next Friday
we'll be showing you pictures from Mama's summer trips to the ABQ Botanical Garden.
This week, we have a couple of ducks and some flowers to show you!

Mr. Wood Duck....

and Mrs. Wood Duck

We think maybe they got in an argument and aren't speaking to each other.

Because you know, birds are silly!

Next week we will have a bunch of colorful flowers to show you, but let's look at a few of the pretty
yellow flowers Mama has seen....

 Beautiful yellow day lilies...

Some cheerful sunny Yellow Begonias!

and some moody, more shady yellow begonia!

Thanks for joining us today to look at the nature at the ABQ Botanical Gardens.

We sure hope you all get out and see some nature this weekend!

Flowery Nature Friday

The weather is warming up here in New Mexico and the flowers are blooming everywhere. Mama visited the Botanic Garden last week to see what she could see and share for Nature Friday.

The leaves are filling in, pretty soon this walkway will be fully shaded.

Pretty Snow Drop flowers lined one side of the walkway...

...and pretty purple-y pink tulips lined the other side. This one is more pink...

....and this one is more purple-y!

Mama found some Yellow Irises on her way to the Arboretum.

They had lots of pretty flowers inside the arboretum too!

Colorful orchids and anthurium were everywhere.

There were bouquets of yellow Clivia Lily

....and Orange Clivia Lily too!

This little Spring display was one of Mama's favorite find this visit!

Thank you for letting us share some of Mama's flower pictures.
We hope you all get a chance to smell some flowers this weekend!

Flowers on Nature Friday(ABQ-BG Part 2)

Rosy here on this beautiful Nature Friday for Part 2 of Mama's trip to the Albuquerque Botanical Garden!

This week we're going to meander around the Mediterranean Conservatory and see some pretty flowers.

The bromeliad have us wishing for some tropical weather instead of the cool winds and snow flurries in the forecast this week.

The reds are so very dreamy....

...and the white bromeliad seem to glow in the sunlight

Hmmmm Mama, I don't think Cyclamen grows in just the Mediterranean but I do love the red flowers. Plus, look at the design on the leaves, very cool!

This is Aeschynanthus Radicans, also known as the Lipstick Plant. The maroon flowers do kinda look like one of Mama's lipstick tubes.

These flowers are warming me up already! Let's see what else Mama found.

Here we have a bloom from the Fan Aloe plan.
Of course, Mama loves the orange!

A pretty pink Forest Lily

You can count on Mama to almost always find an Orchid, they are her "lighthouse" of flowers!

Last, but certainly not least, Mama's(and mine too) favorite flower she saw on this particular day, the Peppermint Geranium. It was so delicate and small, yet check out the beautiful shades of pink and the bright orange of its stamen!

Thanks so much for joining us for this flowery edition of Nature Friday, we hope it helped warm those in chillier climates!

We hope you all get out and see some colorful nature this weekend!

A Flowery Flamigle on Nature Friday

Howdy all, Fred the Flamingo and I are here today to celebrate  Nature Friday with a look at some flowers we have blooming in our backyard!

First, Mama wanted me to thank you for all your thoughts during this ruff time, and apologize for missing Nature Friday last week. Thanks so much for your pawsitive thoughts and understanding.

Now, let's take a look at some flowers!

The Russian Sage is blooming a pretty purple

The hummingbirds really enjoy the Cedar Sage

The Blue Salvia is still blooming

The Prairie Coneflowers like to sway in the breeze

All these flowers sure do make us smile!

The Texas Yucca is blooming and is now growing these little seed pods!  The pretty pale green looks pretty next to the pink flowers, don't you think?

I know we keep saying this,  but Mama and I are amazed at the type of flowers blooming here in the high desert! We never thought we would see a giant hibiscus flower here in New Mexico!

There is a little pink Primrose patch right by the patio that surprised us when it started blooming!

This kniphofia also goes by the names "Red Hot Poker Plant" or "Torch Lily".  We think it looks like a pretty sunset!

...and finally Mama's favorite, a deep red day lily!

Thanks for tagging along with Fred the Flamingo and me on this Flowery Nature Friday!

We hope everpawdy gets out to enjoy some flower fun this weekend!
