Nature Friday - Birthday Rosy in the Dahlias

The best part of any birthday celebration is an adventure, right?
Especially if it is a Mama and Me Adventure!!

It is prime Dahlia season here on the Northy North Coast of California, what better way to celebrate my 4th Birthday than walking through a rainbow of pretty flowers!

Just look at all the pretty colors!!

Mama says every year seems to be more colorful than the previous year.
We were so happy that the sun burned off the morning clouds and we could enjoy some beautimous clear blue skies!

Plus...I got to wear my cool pink shades!!
Let's take a nice walk around the garden and see the collection of flowers this year.
We're going to forego the captions so you can admire the
views!

I especially like the last red dahlia. It reminds me of Aunty HiC!
The dahlias are exploding with color this year, kind of like our own personal fireworks except flowers are much more quiet, thank goodness!

Let's take one last stroll around the back half of the garden...

So much beauty in one small garden!

Do you have a favorite dahlia??
The flower above is Mama's favorite because it reminds her of a pretty sunrise.

I really like the pink one with white tips.
You know pink is my most favorite color!!

Here is a relaxing 2021 Dahlia Collection Video Mama put together.

This one is a bit long, so you may want to go HERE
to YouTube to bookmark and watch it later.

Thanks so much for joining me this week to celebrate my Birthday! Turning four has been so much fun...I can't wait to see how we celebrate my big 05!!

Nature Friday at Sequoia Gardens

Before Mama left for Michigan, I made sure she took me to see what was blooming in Sequioa Gardens. I knew this time of year it would be chock full of flowers!

It didn't disappoint, look at all of the colors!!

 If you look over there....

You'll see we have a second crop of Columbines this year!

Mama and I share a love of these beautiful flowers...

We hope someday to take CeCe to Colorado and see them in the wild.

The Columbines are only the tip of the flower-burg!
Just look a what else we found!

 A late blooming Calla lily

A big orange-red poppy!

and let's not forget the Fairy Hats....

I had forgot all about this fairy hat. I sure was a cute little pup. This is why Mama will always call these flowers fairy hats.

Enough memories Mama, let's move along...

 A pretty yellow daylily

and a lovely red daylily for Aunty C!

The fuschias always catch our eyes. There is something about the deep pinks and purples that is just so very pretty!

and guess what is starting to bloom??
The DAHLIAS!!

Here is a short video of a few of the dahlias we saw!!

You can also watch it HERE on YouTube

Sequoia Gardens and its plethora of flowers always puts a smile on my face!!

Aloha Friday From Sequoia Gardens

Happy Aloha Friday!!! Today, on [a prerecorded earlier this week] Nature Friday, let's take a look at the blooms Mama saw at Sequoia Gardens last week!!

The Dahlias still have a ways to go before they are ready to bloom later this Summer, but she found plenty of other flowers!!

Some pink fluffy Japanese Cherry blooms were out in full force.

The Columbines are almost done blooming, Mama got there just in time to see this purple variation still holding its head up....

....and this pink one sure is pretty....

...unfortunately, this group of Columbines seem to be a bit past their peek.

If we look over here....

We have what looks to be a floofy Columbine!

 Here are some California Poppies.
Isn't all that orange just delightful??!!

...and let's wrap this week up with some lovely purple Irises!!

Thanks for joining me today. You can be sure Arty and I are out and about while camping, finding nature to share with you when we get back next week!

We hope everyone get out to see some nature this weekend!

Winter at Sequoia Gardens

Earlier this week Mama and I took advantage of a sunny morning and headed to Sequoia Gardens in search of kind of some nature!

At first glance, it looked like everything was brown and dormant for the Winter. But Mama and I
started looking more closely and just look at what we found!

Little birdies singing in the trees

Flowers basking in the sun

Flowers that have turned into feathery seed to fly away and bloom in new places

 Rain drops on red flowers....

Pretty seed pods

 Shiny blooms

Look at these pretty Sweet Allysum flowers!

We even found these beautiful red foxglove type flowers!!

It sure was fun taking the time to sniff around and see what nature was out there! We hope you can get out and find some nature in unexpected places this weekend!
