Crashing Waves and Rays of Hope

What a crazy couple of months it has been here on the Northy North Coast of California. Mama says it kind of reminds her of the ocean...

It started with just small foamy problems....in our case, this was mostly growing local COVID numbers

 ...and as we watched...

 The waves kept building.....

...as our county was put in COVID's dreaded "purple" zone (the highest tier in California)

Then the waves crashed as Rosy had her first seizure.

The vet hasn't found any major problems and Rosy's blood work looks good so, for now, we are keeping a journal to track how often she has seizures. Luckily, she has only had an additional two episodes in the past three weeks. Angel Bilbo also had seizures when he was a four or five years old(Rosy is three and a half) and they passed. We are hoping Rosy's do the same thing. All of this, has made Mama a bit scatter brained...

So we are glad there are rays of sunshine emerging along the edge of the tumultuous waves of 2020. Hopefully, the COVID vaccine will make everyone's New Year a bit brighter!

We hope 2021 brings everyone more rays of hope and less big waves!!!

  3. Reading of California is devastating (as is all US news), just praying for 2021 to show some movement forward and out of this horrific situation ...
Sweet Sunny, we are sad to hear of your seizures (our grandpup Dougie Dog has them), we hope
it will not be a lasting or damaging problem, that it can be gotten under control. You are such a pretty young lady, we always enjoy seeing you here.
Mom's post today is very impressive, a strong analogy.

  4. Oh dear, we are so sorry to hear that about Rosy. Mom says a dog having a seizure is one of the scariest things she has ever seen. She has had a dog who had a few over a couple years but then they never happened again. We hope yours stop too, Rosy. The virus needs to go too. GBGV hugs to you and your family.

  7. We're very sorry to hearvthat Rosy had a seizure. Chester has had maybe 2 seizures in his entire life that we know of, and he's now 12. Hopefully Rosy will not have another one.

  10. Oh dear, poor Rosy, we do hope he seizures pass, or at least can be controlled. But we always feel a bit happier for seeing pictures of your beautiful coastline, despite all the horrid things that have been happening this year.

  12. I hope Rosie's seizures go away too. Fingers and toes crossed.

I love the ocean. We had a trip planned this year to the coast, but we cancelled it due to Covid.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches to the pups. ♥

  13. Oh no...I'm familiar with seizures and hope time will sort things out. Luckily there are relatively ways to treat the problem with medication (or CBD) and little things that can be done to minimize. Good luck; we've got our paws crossed there are no more waves of either variety.

  14. Purrayers and POTP for Rosy. Years ago we had a dog who had just one, and went on for years without another.

  15. We are so upset about Rosy having seizures. Of course we don't know why it happened, but Mom asked us to give you this link about vaccinations: https://vitalanimal.com/titers-are-you-using-them-wisely/
She said you just can't have too much information about all the things that can affect us.
Sunny, since you are an otter, we know you can keep up with the posts until Rosy feels better. Please give her our love. Xena and Lucy

  16. It has been an incredibly difficult year all around. We are so sorry to hear of Rosy's seizures. As you may remember, Angel Ciara had them too, starting around the same age. They can be terrifying to watch, but fortunately the vet says the dog doesn't remember. We hope Rosy will not have any more. Lightning has them too, but his are really bizarre.

Bring on 2021 - we all need a change.

  17. Oh no, not seizures. Shyla has them too. Meds have them under control. I sure hope that Rosy's are under control very soon.

2020 has been so hard in so many ways. Let's hope that life looks up soon. Perhaps the passing of the winter solstice will start us on a better path.

What wonderful photos. I smile whenever I visit here.

  19. Oh NOES! That is so scary Rosy! I hopes they go away and never ever come back! I just knows that 2021 will be betters, and seizure free (paws crossed) Gives your Moms a snuggle and a slobbery kiss from me, k?
Oh, the numbers have been awful down here fur a while. No one knows why, everyone I see out has their masks on, so the tracing peeps say that it's gatherings in peeps homes and get togethers that are making the numbers go up. I don't know what you can do about that ~ peeps have to want to keep doin' the right thing, which I guess is hard after more than 8 months. We just keep thinkin' of the doctors and nurses that have to see all the suffering and heartache of people dying alone. then the right thing isn't so hard
    Keep safe!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

  21. Fingers crossed she will just grow out of it pretty snappy.

Not sure about when the vaccine will be available here, but I guess our lives will be disrupted for a long time yet.

Klem (and an extra one for Rosy)
