Humming into the Weekend on Nature Friday

Happy July, or as I like to call it...
Rosy's Birthday Month!! In honor of such a special month, I thought we would look at my favorite birdies to visit our backyard, the hummingbirds!

I love to watch them flit and fly from one feeder to the next! We have a few different kinds of hummingbirds,
but Mama is still up in the air on which on is which!

Sometimes they eat while they fly!

Just look at their little taloned feeties!

Mama has a few different feeders for them.

There is this one that has the nectar in the bottom of the feeder...

...and this one with the nectar stored in the top!

But we both love watching them find lunch in the flowers! Here is one looking for lunch in the Texas Yucca blooms!

Looks like he found a bit of pollen too!

That's a small look at our backyard hummers on parade!

We hope everyone's weekend goes hummingly!

From Mama: We will be on vacation for the next week or two while I travel to NJ to be with my sister upon the loss of her son.

We hope to have an update for you next Friday.

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see the link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

They are fascinating wee fleeters, are they not, Rosy? They are surely an uplift to hearts that hurt a little from loss... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  6. Niece Rosy, Aunty C is green with jealousy....OMDs you have hummers everywhere WOW
I would say i'm speechless but that would be a fib. We only have one kind here the Ruby Throated and I do so enjoy watching and feeding them. The previous owners of LLG manor took care to plant just the perfect plants for them too
Safe travels to your sweet mama

  11. Beautiful Rosy, beautiful hummingbirds and amazing photos of them as they are difficult to capture. Though mostly we are sharing paws together and prayers for you and your sister on your family loss. Travel safely.

  12. You got some amazing photos of hummingbirds. Mom saw a hummingbird at Grandpa's on the geranium and then she came home and saw one on our Trumpet Vine Friday so she is going to put our feeders out.

  13. Lady loves her hummingbirds and has a very similar feeder. Fun fact, we only have one type live her. Your Lady is amazing to have captured them so wonderfully! Lee and Phod

  15. We loved seeing the hummingbirds! We see maybe one or two around here. One summer we put up a feeder for them, but it soon filled with wasps (don't know how they got in there) and then the Evil Squirrel Cartel plundered it. So we just try to plant flowers they might like, and hope they visit them.

  16. We LOVE seeing your humming birds! Hummers are so much fun! Mom has declined putting out a feeder for them this year. Apparently some cat has figured out how to get into the vegetable garden...so the safe place for the feeder from us cats in no longer safe. The hummers were a little perturbed and dive bomb Mom when she is weeding. She misses watching them. And we miss the leaping and stalking!
Oh Yes! Happy July 4th! Keep being Awesome!
