Turtles are really odd creatures and so very slow too. I wonder what is it like to live under a shell and basically carry your home on your back all the time.
Wow! We didn't know turtles have a special day. I had a pet turtle named Speedie. He lived in a turtle bowl, which in those days was just a plastic thing with water and a plastic palm tree in the middle that we kept on the floor in a corner. One day Uncle Dietmar was visiting and accidentally stepped in the turtle bowl. Speedie didn't get hurt, but our uncle earned the title, "Big Chief Foot- in-the Bowl," forever after!
