World Otter Day

It's the Otterly Adorable Sisters, along with our friend Ollie, here to wish you a very happy World Otter Day!  Here in New Mexico we don't have any Ocean Otters, but we do have River Otters!

After being extinct in NM for a long time, it's nice to know they are back in our area! We haven't seen them in the wild yet, but Mama goes to see them at the Aquarium every times she visits!

We need to make sure to do our best to help them be safe. It doesn't take much, have your humans pick up your poopies so the rain doesn't wash it into the rivers....and don't litter!

Here are a couple of the otters having a snuggle nap fest!

No wonder they sleep a bunch, underwater zoomies must be exhausting!

Mama made a little video of these cuties during her Aquarium visit last week:

You can also watch it HERE on YouTube.

Do you have Otters in your corner of Blogville??

They are just soooo darn cutesome! Yes, I love that there are sea otters not very far from here. Not that I have managed to see them yet, but there are lots of folk who have. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  2. Mom will never forget the time a river otter ran right in front of her to enter the pond. He was bigger than expected and entered the water without even a splash. They are amazing!

  3. you are truly Otterly Beautiful. yes we have otters, we have seen them 3 times at Bray park, but not since we got Beau. Florida is full of otters in the rivers and ponds.

  5. Otters are absolutely adorable. We have a family of 8 at our coastal aquarium that are moving into a new habitat today. I could watch them all day long when we visit our zoo too.

  6. Those otters are so cute, but not as cute as you two girls. We have river otters around here too but have never seen them in the wild.

  7. Lulu: "Hmm, I don't know if we have otters around here, but every once in a while I catch Mama and Dada watching videos of otters on YouTube. Does that count?"

  11. Your Ollie Otter is real cute, Rosey and Sunny. We do have river otters here in TN and not just in the aquariums. They were "restocked" after becoming almost extinct. Did you know otters eat their prey's head first, and don't eat the tail on fish? They're just like us! XOX Xena and Chia
