Awards and Stuff

Dory and Stevie Ray
This is a picture of me when I still had hair (Nasty look at Mama). I am sitting pretty with Stevie Ray Vaughn,
a most famous Austin musician that went over the Rainbow Bridge.

I am still not speaking to my Mama (unless cookies are involved of course). She used to be very good at scheduling days at the grooming spa for me. Then her hours got cut back at that place she goes to earn money to buy us treats and get us groomed. So she is "saving money" and grooming us herself. I am updating her resume and begging her to find another job, NOT grooming poor innocent pups like ME! Bilbo is scheduled for torture..um I mean grooming, on Saturday cause Mama needs Daddy there to help. We will update you and let you know he is still in one piece with no nicks or cuts...and that Mama and Daddy are also in one piece with no Bilbo bitey holes or scratchies! Sasha.. you may want to skip reading us this weekend...it will not be for the puppies sensitive to G-R-O-O-M-I-N-G...

Anyhoo...to cheer me up I am posting a couple of awards that I have gotten. We are sorry it took MAMA so long to post this one...

We got this one from Princess!! The wonderful Purplehatter made this award for her! Are you a Top Dog...or know somepuppy that is?? Please take and pass this award along!!
Thank you Princess!!!!

We got this one this morning from Coco. She got this award from Kathy at Net Finds!Go visit for some very cool finds and giveaways!

We hope all our sweet, sweet friends will take this award home with them

We hope efurrybody has a pawsome Thursday!!!

Congrats on the Award, you well deserve it Dory.
I pray for efurrybody remains intact in one piece after the "saving money session" this weekend. My mom does the scissor herself too, I still don't want to talk about it.
    Love ya

  3. Congratulations on the sweet awards, Dory! Very well-deserved!
Our mom had a bad grooming session a bit ago when she went to get groomed. Dad assured her it will grow back. Yours will, too!

  8. Dory, I'm sure you don't look half as bad as you think you do. At least your mama tried. Hopefully she'll get better in time.

    Congrats on your awards!

  9. Very cool picture of you with the big statue. So brave to stand next to it! Come on is grooming really that bad? We used to love visiting our Annette groomer...but now we don't have to be away from momma 1 whole day a month...So there is always a bright side.

  10. Congrats on your awards, Dory. And good luck with the grooming for Bilbo. Just keep telling yourself that it is better for Mom to cut back on the grooming instead of knocking out the treats.

We are still working on smiley pics, Mom says we haven't been too cooperative:(

  11. Cool photo!!! We know nothing about grooming...unelss it only includes a bath, the kiddlets are lucky to have minimal fur. Good luck to Bilbo on Saturday.

We are trying desperately to find a smile photo by the 24th to enter your contest. These kiddlets are not very smiley.... shame on them!

  13. Dory-

We are so sorry about your haircut, but even with a home grooming you still look absolutely adorable! We think it's impossible for you to look bad. Look at home or at the groomer, no one is safe; just look at poor Oskar who got his Woozle removed!

  15. Dory, you look so statuesque! I'm sorry you Momma is having to groom you. SHE said she'd rather give up her pedi's n mani's and still take me to the groomer. She has to do Puffers at home cuz he bites. It involves grown up drinkies for her and drugs for him. And the Mr. She says doing one dog is enuff for anybody and since I'm nice n polite, I get to go. Well, I'm polite to everyone but Puffers!

  16. Dory, congratulations on the awards! We like the picture of you with Stevie Ray Vaughn.

We don't think your Mama did that badly with your grooming. Our mummy grooms us too and we think that's great.

  17. Oh dear. Sounds like some bad fur emergencies going on at your place. Mom is trying her best. Please be patient. You ARE kind of high maintenance.

  18. Hey Dory,
Congrats on your awards! I guess I'm lucky I don't have any hair to groom cause my mama cuts my little sis Trudy's hair to save money. Of course, Trudy was so evil at the groomers that the lady charged an extra $10 "bad girl fee."

  21. Congrats on the awards, Dory. Do you get to see pictured of your with your new haircut? I'm sure you still look beautiful! My Mommy and Daddy bathe and groom us at home, we don't mind it at all. We've never had haircuts though. I don't think we'd like that very much.

  25. Poor Dory-
I can't begin to imagine the anguish that you dogs-who-must-be-groomed must endure! Bathtime is bad enough, but at least that's it for me! I have to fight thru a toenail trim every other week, but at least I don't need haircuts!! My sympathies!

COngrats on the awards. You deserve them all.

Yah I would say get that resume updated ASAP!! I hear from mine that money is tight and people loosing jobs, mine both have jobs still whew!! but....when they learn that they need to make cuts in other areas than our grooming???? My mom is to scared to groom me, she thinks she will mess me up and YES, she might! SHE used to cut their old dog Sprint, he was a poodle and I have seen pics!!! OH MAN!! I felt bad for him!! So I still get to go to the groomer, and I really like her, she babies me!!

  28. You are very brave to let you Mom near you with the clippers. Me? No. Way. If I ever get desperate, I will sacrifice treats to ensure that I get a professional washing and cutting my precious hairs! We'll be praying that Bilbo ends up with all his ears and toes and things when it is all said and done!

  29. Hi, Dory!
Sounds like your mom and dad are going to have an interesting grooming session with Bilbo!

  30. Don't let her near Bilbo on Saturday unless you happen to be very angry with him, in which case I guess it would be alright.

As far as YOUR haircut goes, let me speak from experience. It DOES grow back, but it takes awhile. Hold your head high and pretend that you're sporting the latest new look... confidence is everything.

  31. Oh Dory remember your Mom and Dad love you and Bilbo in spite of their less than perfect grooming skills. Instruments of torture that is what groom tools are and I don't like them either. Great awards and well deserved!!! We are looking forward to your smiling contest. Mom could never get a picture of me smiling. I heard her tell Dad that cats rarely smile because they are rarely happy...Mom the reason I don't smile is becasue the flashy box is always in my face!!

  32. That evil recession monster must DIE! We are forced to give up important stuff over here too (like a lot of snackies, stuffies, etc, etc.)
But I just know you must look most stunning with your new 'do. Just tell everyone it is the newest style in Austin.
    Have a great weekend!

  33. Love Stevie - he has a statue. You have awards.

  34. Congrats on the great awards!!

Cute pic. I totally understand your mama having to cut back. I've been grooming my girls myself the last few years. They aren't any happier than you that is for sure!

  35. Dory Congratulations on your most deserved awards, they are very nice. You look very pretty by that big man.

Bilbo, read this carefully, grab all the good and water you can carry, go back for more if you must, but do it quietly. Now go and hide deep in the closet or under the bed, someplace the humans can't reach you. They will be worried about you and then in a day or so you can come out. They will be so happy to see you that they will forget all about the grooming. I am doing the same right now as my Mommy has mentioned that word here also. Godspeed to you my friend.

It's a good thing, Mommy need not make a mistake with our grooming - we don't have much fur she could mess up with.
