While Dory is taking some personal days after being humiliated worn out after Halloween, I have taken my role as PA (pack alpha) in the blog world today this week. Today I wanted to show you a recent conversation Dory and I had regarding the "Art of the Happy Dance". Dory seems to think it should start AFTER Mama or Daddy get IN the door. I, on the other hand, KNOW it should start before the humans come in the door because it IS the happy dance that makes them come in faster!!!
Bilbo: "Dory, Daddy says Mama is home...are you ready for the happy dance???"
Dory: "Ummm Bilbo, should we really believe Daddy? "
Bilbo: "Daddy wouldn't fib about this Dory..It IS MAMA!!"
Dory: "Ok Bilbo, I am ready then"
Bilbo: "OK, we will start with a little woof..WOOF!"
Dory: "Ummmm Daddy, I do NOT hear Mama..."
Dory: "Ummmm Daddy, I do NOT hear Mama..."
Bilbo: "Dory...Stare at the door so Mama comes in...STARING.."
Dory: "Ummm...Bilbo, I still do NOT hear Mama"
Dory: "Ummm...Bilbo, I still do NOT hear Mama"
Bilbo: "DORY...PAY ATTENTION!!!!"
Bilbo: "Did you hear that Dory?"
Dory: " I guess I heard something..."
Dory: " I guess I heard something..."
Bilbo: "Start the Happy Dance Dory!! Jump up high...scratch on the way down
and WOOF WOOF WOOF."

Bilbo: "WOOF WOOF...SCRATCH SCRATCH".

I like your Happy Dance Bilbo. Me and Banjo do one kinda like that as soon as our mom comes through the door. We jump around and wag our little nubbins and wiggle our butts, so it's called the Waggle Butt Dance.

Bilbo, awesome happy dancing! I do the same thing every night when Daddy and Big Sis get home. You have to wait until just the right moment to jump and scratch the door. Sorry about the fake out, Mommy does that to me sometimes to, just to use the flashy beast. It is a dirty trick and I always fall for it. Great post Bilbo.

Good Happy Dance Bilbo, I do something like that when my mome comes back from ANYTHING, even the room downstairs...I might wet the floor if she was gone for a couple of days. Seems Dory was in on the joke Bilbo, you might need to take one of her treats.

Well now we know why Bilbo doesn't make many blog appearances...he is away sleeping and storing up energy for his Superman LEAP!!! Wow Who knew a vertically challenged could jump that HIGH!!! Kudos to the photographer!!!

What a great happy dance! I would never have thought you could catch so much air! Even if the Daddy was playing head games with you, that is still some pawsome jumping. Our front door has similar happy dance marks. Puffy's friend Gator does a happy dance then dig like crazy trying to reach the door knob. Not me. I just plop down and wait. SHE'll get there eventually and I need to save my energy so I can weave back n forth between her feeties and trip her up!
