Travel Tuesday-Mini Arty takes a Road Trip (Part 1)

Welcome to another episode of.....
(cue depressing music)

It sure does seem to me that the Minis are going WAY more places than I am lately!! I hear through the Blogville-vine that Mama and I will be doing another LLLLlllooooonnnnggggg Road trip to BAR next June, plus there are whispers of a "roadtrip weekend with Dory and Arty soon" around the house.
...Keep your paws crossed!!
For now though, here is Arty to tell you about their latest road trip!!!

Thanks Dory!! Hi all, for the next few weeks the other Mini's and I will be showing you a bit of our home state of California. We'll be doing the northern part
(Bay Area and Monterey, where Daddy had an important work meeting)
and then Mama and Daddy are taking us to the southern part
(the San Diego part, where Daddy has another important work meeting at the end of this month)
for a couple of weeks after that!! Needless to say this is a busy travel summer for us!!

Today, it is all about the fun we had on the way to Santa Rosa (where Daddy's meeting was) from our house! First, we drove through past BIG Redwood trees.....

OMD...Just look how big that tree is!!!! It must be 8787 feet!!

The plan WAS to drive through the tree, but Mama and Daddy said something about over a 2 hour wait, and that we could watch other cars drive through...SO NOT FAIR!!!
Can you read how old the tree is...OMD, it is over 2400 years old!!
I think that might be even older than Mama!!!!

Mini Bilbo did find this very cool poem that might give you an idea about how it feels to stand among these very old and royal trees!

From the Redwoods we headed over to the ocean!!!
We followed this road south along the ocean for about 87 hours (or maybe it was 187 minutes).
We did make a few stops along the way...

We saw these birdies taking a nap on one of the rocks in the ocean....

We took a walk down this path.....

that led to this cool rock!!!

Here is a close up...Aren't those holes in the rock COOL??!!!

After another 87 minutes, we were in Santa Rosa!!
Did you know that Snoopy's Daddy, Charles Schultz was from Santa Rosa???
Lucy, one of Snoopy's friends, was right outside of our hotel!!  We think she and Dory look a little alike....or maybe it is just that they are both a bit ummmm...BOSSY!!! BOL!

We had a great time getting to Santa Rosa....and Mama had fun over the next couple of days
while Daddy was in "Meetings".

Join us next week when we show you a little bit of the Bay Area!!

  8. Oh, Ma says she loved the Redwoods when she went to Northern CA years ago. The Minis are so lucky to get to travel to all those great places. It IS a SHAME that the REAL dogs couldn't go, Dory. Just sayin....

  10. There is no mini Emma, so I never have to be jealous ;) Charles Schultz was actually born in Minneapolis, MN, moved to St. Paul, MN and in the late 50's he moved to CA. We only know this because of all the Snoopy hype here in the Twin Cities and I did some research the past two years when I did all my Snoopy photos. He did die in Santa Rosa and did much of his Peanuts work from CA.

  25. Those redwood trees are SO awesome - we are dying to see them! We hoped to go in September but not sure if all those awful wildfires will make travel there from AZ dangerous? I'm glad you had a wonderful and safe trip! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
