Happy Monday!! Today, I, Dory, am going to tell you all about the
road trip Arty and I took last Thursday and Friday.
You see, Mama reallllllly wants to be able to take Arty with her and I to the B.A.R. in June. In order to do that, she wanted to make sure of a couple of things. First of all, she wanted to make sure Arty and I could get along in the car for long periods of time (like 87 hours a day!). The other thing she wanted to make sure of is that she could handle us both without getting totally frazzled. I tried to tell her she totally could do this!! You know pawrents tho, they never listen and always have to find things out by themselves!

We got underway and headed north! It was a beautiful day for a ride!

Our first stop was the Battery Point Lighthouse! I know, BIG SURPRISE (for those who don't know, Mama needs to join Lighthouse Anonymous). Anyway, Arty and I had a nice walkie. I showed Arty all the places Murphy, Stanley and I walked and even showed him the tree where we thought up the whole BAR idea!!
He may have been a tad bit jealous...cause he was giving me a raspberry when Mama took this picture (and yes, that is a lighthouse in the background.....big sigh).

After Mama took like 87 more pictures of the lighthouse (that she already has 87,000 pictures of, silly Mama). We were back on the road!

We drove east and away from the lighthouses ocean and spent the rest of the day driving through beautiful forests and rivers!

We spent most of the afternoon driving along this river.

We made sure to stop bunches to enjoy the scenery.
You know, the journey can be more important than the destination.
This was very true for this trip!

We had lots of photo shoots and, although he needs to learn to smiley more, Arty did great!! It was actually great to have another pup along for the ride!!

We took lovely walkies without getting Mama tangled up too much and we didn't argue at all!!!

I kept a close eye on Mama and she really seemed to be enjoying herself!! Just as she was starting to get a bit weary we saw our #ho-tel!!!

We picked a nice LaQuinta Inns and Suites to stay in Newport, Oregon!! Let me tell you, if you are ever in Newport, Oregon with your peeps, this is the place to stay!! The staff was super friendly and so were all the other pups and their peeps.

When Mama checked in, they told her we had been UPGRADED!!
We weren't sure what that meant until we saw that we had our own fireplace AND spa!! We brought in our luggage (OK...Mama brought in our luggage) and sniffed everything out and ate some dinner!

Then it was time for our evening walkie!!!

There were tons of great smells, and Arty and I had a blast catching up on our peemail!

When we were done with our walkie, Mama unpacked and I relaxed by the toasty fire.

Before I knew it, Arty and I were fast asleep!
It sure was a fun-filled first day of our Road Trip!!
Mama was very happy about how well we had gotten along, and was relieved that it wasn't too much more work for two pups than just me.

This is SO incredibly exciting!! You two look FABULOUS in all of your pictures and we can tell that you and your mom are having the best time!! Road trips are FUN!! Can't wait to see more pics...but you have to clue us in...how on earth does your mom get you to pose so perfect in each and every picture?? We love them all!!

ReplyDeleteWow, yous are the pawfect travelers! Me and Stanley were talking just the other day about how we all were standing around and talking about a big gathering and how cool it would be.
