Welcome to a special edition of Flower Friday..
SmelliFlower Friday!
Now everyone turn on their smellimonitor..What's that Mama?
There is no such thing as a smellimonitor??
OK...well everyone put on their PRETEND smellimonitor and take a deep breath...
Can you smell them???
That's right, the lilacs are blooming and boy do they smell
good!!
This is the first time I have smelled lilacs so I stuck my snooter in and took a deep breath!! They smell sooooo good! Mama likes the fact that they are understated
and not overpowering!
They also look very pretty...kind of like a blue flower and purple flower got together to make them!
Look how beautimous they are against the blue sky!
Did I mention they smell good??
Here is a close up of the cute little flowers and buds!
Mama is so glad they bloomed before we moved so we could enjoy them one more time!
They smelllllll sooooo goood, I bet they taste even better!
Mama says not to worry, Lilacs are not poisonous to puppies She did stop me before I could eat one tho (cause she is a fun monster).
Have you ever nibbled on a Lilac??

ReplyDeleteOMD Rosy, I swear I CAN smell that lilac!!! It is one of my fave smells from childhood days in my granny's garden... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
ooh the smell of lilac is a smell what brings so much good memories from childhood ;O)
ReplyDeleteHow pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour lilac bouquet is beautiful Rosy. They smell great too. 😻
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteI feel it is only a matter of time before a digital 'smellimometer' is invented, and we will be able to transmit smells over the internet. Of course, how our dogs will react to a computer emitting interesting odours remains a matter of concern!
Cheers, Gail.
Lilacs are one of mom's favorites too! Gee, I never thought about nibbling on one, Rosy!
ReplyDeleteOh we wish we had a smell feature the lilacs look gorgeous and we bet they smell gorgeous too.
ReplyDeleteRosy OMCs Lilacs are gorgeous and smell so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI hope and purr you have some on your new yard! I never tasted Lilacs but I did get an itty bitty bite of Baby's Breath once years ago. Blah
is all I have to say
Hugs Aunty Madi
We dread lilac season because it means Mom has to stop to smell them all on our walks. We think squirrel and other critter scents are so much better. In a couple weeks, the lilacs will be out here.
ReplyDeleteWatch out fer the bumbly bee Rosy - they haf bin known to hang out in thoze lilacz sumtimez.

ReplyDeleteMadSnapper shared your blog post with me. Love these beautiful lilacs and yes, the fragrance is wonderful! Wishing you a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThey do smell wonderful don't they?
ReplyDeleteWe do smell lilacs here too as some of our neighbors have lilac bushes. Mom loves them too as they remind her of when she was a little girl and would take a bouquet of the, to,her teacher.

We fired up our smellimonitor and we can definitely smell them! And they're so pretty!

WOW! Those are some darn pretty flowers sweet Rosy!
ReplyDeleteOh Rosy - I love lilacs, and I'm so glad that you do too! We planted tiny little lilac bushes (about 25) a few years ago but they don't bloom yet. However, we know where to find lilac bushes! They are blooming down the hill in town (3000' lower than us), and my husband brings home sprigs of them to make our house smell like lilacs. I love them!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that yours bloomed before you moved!
Love love love LILACS! We can smell them from here!
ReplyDeleteThose are all beautiful and we can smell them from here
ReplyDeleteThey smell so lovely!
ReplyDeleteWe love the way lilacs smell too. They are just starting to bloom around here which is good timing as our Lilac Festival started this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou had better sniff carefully Rosy! You never know if there is a bee lurking in there who doesn't like your nose... One of my cats once caught a bee and was howling for a long time after!!

Oh yes, lilacs are one of our favorites because they smell SO good!! We could just imagine. Soon we'll have some of our own, but they'll be a little later here. Luke says he has not tried to eat them though, and this Mom would ruin that fun too if he did!
