Welcome to the Fifth Annual No Tricks, Just Treats for Shelters!!
We took the down time we had, while the power was out, to gather up things to donate to our local shelter.
Rosy, why don't you start us off...What did you find?
We took the down time we had, while the power was out, to gather up things to donate to our local shelter.

Thanks Boyz! I decided to go through our toys this year to see what I could find to donate.
Can you believe even after I threw away the toys Jakey deaded, I still filled a whole crate with gently used toys to bring to help keep the doggies in the shelters busy!
What do you have for us, Jakey??
Well Rosy, this year I cleaned out our dish cabinet...
I found more than a few dishes we haven't even used yet!
I have also asked Mama to add an extra bag of foodies to our next Chewy.com order to help fill up all the empty dishes at the Shelter!
How about you, Arty?
Well Jakey, I'm on linen duty this year...
I found a BUNCH of blankies and old sheets to donate, Mama says she may even have some old towels to add to my collection. I told her I would be more than happy to skip baths in the future so she could give ALL my towels away if she wanted to BOL!!
Donating items from around your home is only one of the great ways to help out shelters and rescues. Make sure to stop by tomorrow for more examples of how you can help your local shelter and rescue organizations!
Publish
a
Halloween post letting us know some way you plan to/or have helped a
shelter or pet in need, and link up to the hop. We will be donating $1
per hop entry AND 50 cents for each comment we receive on the 30th and
31st (Make sure to join the hop with a post each day)! Money raised this
year will be split between Legacy Boxer Rescue, Marg's Animals and to
our local Cat Rescue, HART(Humboldt Area Rescue Team) in Brian's name.
What a great idea to help out these shelters.
ReplyDeleteOur local shelters are always n d=need of bleach and towels and other cleanjung supplies. Of course they welcome food, and related supplies.
Once we won a whole lot of medical things such as vitamins and supplements for cats, which Pipo simply disdained. MOL! So those went to our vet who then used them in his own shelter or gave them to the rescue group from where Dalton was adopted.
Oh, dear sorry for all those typos!
Deletethat is so wonderful!!! and what a truckload of donations... thanks to you for bringing so much joy to those in need
ReplyDeleteWhat a pawsome way to help shelters!

I think it's wonderful that they're in the holiday and giving spirit. Even more wonderful that they giving spirit is for those pups and fantastic felines in need of a forever home.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are the bestest and so very generous!
ReplyDeleteOh my, look-eee at all the wunnerful things you've found for your shelter friends! And of course now you can fill-up those empty closets and cupboards with "more" ... more than you can donate next year! You are all Very Good Pups and get the Number One Pups Award for supporting and caring for the others in your home town who are not as blessed as you are! Cheers for Jakey, Arty and Rosy (and paws up, too to Mom) for all the kindess shared!

OH boyz! Look at all the great examples you gave us! And I enjoyed seeing Brian's dad over at the shelter donating. Mom does that too when she gathers up things. She had some dedded toys along with fuds the last time. She figured the residents in the shelter could dead them again. XXX
ReplyDeleteYou guys are awesome. We won't be doing a shelter post as that is just not our thing on the blog, but we can comment, and we do bring food and stuff to our shelter now and then during the year.
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys sure found a lot of good things to help the shelter with.

ReplyDeleteWe're sorry we didn't get to do a post again this year, I had a huge project I had to complete this week and just haven't had enough time. But we wanted to be sure to leave our comment!

You guys are simply pawsome! Well done. Thank you for sharing with pups not nearly as fortunate.
ReplyDeleteExcellent donations! Your local shelter will be thrilled.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I have items that I'd like to give to the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) but they lack enough volunteers for someone to drive a truck here for the extra cat tree. :( My father built three carpeted towers (!) and are now down to one geriatric kitty. Best wishes to all these shelter babies. We'd like to adopt a pair of feline siblings one of these days. ~grin~ Be well!
ReplyDeleteWow! You pups did a fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great idea
ReplyDeleteA totally pawesome cause guys!!!
ReplyDeletePaws up for all you’re doing to help shelters! The mom volunteers at one of our local shelters and she knows all those donations will be much appreciated.
