Cool Clouds on Nature Friday

Is it us, or are Fridays going faster than fast?
We sure hope things slow down a little bit or it's going to be the Howlidays next week!

This week, we are wrapping up our trip to Colorado with a look up. Well, let's rephrase that, Mama did the looking up while we snoozed in our beds but hey, we get to see the pictures, so it's all good right??

Before we start, we want to let you know Mama took all these pictures from Colorado, during a 5 1/2 hour drive which covered 257 miles.

When we left Len's Mini Acres, it was a beautiful day with big puffy clouds in the sky.

We took a different route on the way home, so we headed west a little bit and saw some bigger cloud formations.

As we made the turn south, the skies started getting darker, and we drove through some rain.

Then...the skies cleared up again!

In case you haven't guessed by now...the weather can be crazy here in New Mexico, but it does make for some beautiful skies!

As we turned back towards the east the clouds began to move in again....

The clouds had some beautiful textures.
Mama looked this pattern up and these are called "mammatus clouds"

This was the scene just as we entered the outskirts of Albuquerque. Mama said it was a little spooky, but luckily, the sun followed them home!

Thanks for joining us for a look at some of the cool clouds we(Mama) saw on our way home. The whole family sure did enjoy our getaway to Colorado. For this trip it really was all about the journey, but the destination was pretty pawsome too!

We hope you all get out and enjoy some nature this weekend!!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

  5. All of the different clouds are just gorgeous! They remind us of one of our favorite authors and painters - Eric Sloane.

  9. Rosy thank GOODNESS mama didn't nap during that trip. What amazing clouds and sky you have in your area. I love how some of the clouds appear to be resting on the Rockies

    1. I used to go to Starbucks on the way to work. Once I retired my visits were less but we adore The Cranberry Bliss baked good during the holidays.
Now we buy (on sale) Peets whole beans grind at home. Delicious
I too love local coffee cafes.
      Hugs Cecilia

  11. Your mom captured some pretty cool clouds on your trip. This week we had orange skies as the smoke came down from the wildfires in Canada. You couldn't even tell if there were any clouds up there because the smoke was so thick.
