Today, we are thankful for backyard walkabout. The Australian definition of a walk about is
"a journey on foot undertaken by an Australian Aboriginal in order to live in the traditional manner"
This sounds about right, Rosy and I like to walk around our backyard to connect with our "inner dog". This may or may not include snacking on bunny poop.....
Barking at pretty birds.....
Hunting bunnies in the scary Russian Sage....
Chasing pretty birds...
...and, let's not forget, Rosy's never ending hunt for the elusive...
Road Runner!!!
Unlike the Aboriginal Australians though, we can come into the nice air-conditioned house for a water and cookie break when needed.
Backyard Walkabouts are definitely on our Backyard Thankfuls list!
From the Pawrents:
We will be out of the Office until 7/11 as we travel for a family reunion. The girls will be home with their new doggy nanny B, being spoiled, chasing bunnies and hopefully NOT eating bunny poop.
Through the magic of the interwebs, Nature Friday won't be interrupted and will be scheduled for tomorrow, and next Friday(7/7).
We hope you all have a great week!
(and a Happy and quiet 4th of July for those in the USA)
Thank you Brian for hosting the
Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I luv a good walkabout too!

ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky, galdogs!!! And happy trails to the parents. Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
We are not interested in bird, just furry critters like squirrels and rabbits, of course. As younsters we dined on lots of those presents rabbits leave lying around, but we all seem to have outgrown our taste for it these days. Enjoy the time with your nanny and we hope your parents have a great trip.
ReplyDeleteBeau rarely does a walkabout, but Jake was a constant walkabout dog. if he was out he was moving, and he would stay out as long as anyone was out with him, Beau likes inside best.
ReplyDeleteoops forgot to say enjoy your visit and have safe travels, hope the new nanny takes photos for us. my firend here makes extra cash, staying in peoples home with dogs or cats or both.
DeleteWalk abouts and surveying is most important! We hope your peeps have a great time and we hope you girls do too!
ReplyDeleteHappy hunting and searching and to my nieces. I know your Nanny is well trained in the care and feeding of Princesses.
ReplyDeleteBeth and Ed have a wonderful trip and family reunion.
Hugs Cecilia
You girls sure have a great yard to walk around in, but we can't endorse chasing the birdies. As far as eating bunny poop we whole heartedly agree on that! BOL! We hope your parents have a great time on their trip and you two get spoiled rotten by your sitter.
ReplyDeleteLulu: "Have a fun and safe trip! We will see you again soon!"
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "You sure have a lot of bird! Hey, do you need us cats to come help supervise the dogs while you're away?"
Charlee: "I am not supervising any dogs."
Oona: "OONA WILL DO IT!!!"
Gail and I think your version of the Walkabout, i.e. one that includes air con and cookies, might just be an improvement on the Aboriginal version!
ReplyDeleteWe wish your Mama and Daddy safe travels.
Toodle-oo!
Nobby.
