Happy first Nature Friday in June!!
Today, we're going to look at some rock formations we passed during our last road trip!
On the way to Lin's Mini Acres, we drove through mountains like this one....
...or ones like this with flat tops.
...and cool curly-q rocks like this!
Mama took this picture because she liked the flag and cross on the top of the hill. When she looked at it later though, she saw the table top like rocks in the foreground!
When we were on the way home from Lin's Mini Acres, we drove a different route, on the west side of New Mexico. Wow, the rocks look different out there!
They just sprout out of the ground!
We would be driving along, snoozing away, when we would here Mama squeel about another rock!
Daddy told her that the volcanic activity back in the olden days....
...helped to "grow" these big rocks!
I don't know how they all were made, but they sure are pretty!!!
I hope you enjoyed seeing the different kind of rocks in New Mexico, we sure had fun looking at them!
We hope you all get out and see some nature this weekend!
Show
us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of
your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey!
Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below,

ReplyDeleteMy word, you did see quite the variety!!! I am particularly impressed with the sky-pointing monoliths. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
it's amazing what happens around us... maybe it is true that giants lived on our plant once who built and formed that parts?
ReplyDeleteAll of the different rocks are just beautiful and so are the skies behind them!
ReplyDeleteWe like seeing the rocks that just seem to pop up or grow out of the ground. Too much rock like in Utah isn't out thing, but these are nice ones.
ReplyDeleteMy humans are like wowwed -they particularly like your curly rocks - like rock roses.
ReplyDeleteDearest Niece Sunny OMDs look at those rocks a few of them look like they could be the 3rd Rock from the sun. My favorite was the curly rock until I saw the sprouting rocks.
ReplyDeletethank you for the eye candy
Hugs Aunty C
You sure do have some cool rocks out your way. We have lots of rocks in the ground that our dad curses at when he is trying to plant somthing. BOL! Our town is known for its rock quarries.
ReplyDeleteLulu: "Our Dada looked at the picture of the curlicue rocks and now he wants a cinnamon bun ..."
ReplyDeleteYou sure live in a beautiful place and there is always something new and exciting to see!
ReplyDeleteYou have some terrific rocks, I am stuck with tiny stones.
ReplyDeleteWow, it looked like you had a great trip. Lady loves the rocks and the birds. Did you know our angel cat Nin loved otters, he watched them on TV. Lady saw the otter a couple times in our lake. Our Aunt C's dream used to be an alpaca farm. Lee and Phod who have never seen an alpaca.
