A Touch of Autumn on Nature Friday

While we were on vacation, we were lucky enough to experience the first signs of Autumn

A pretty dandy-lion skeleton greeted us in Raton Pass.

But mostly, the leaves were starting to change colors in Colorado.

Peaks of yellow were turning up everywhere!

During our time there, we were amazed how fast the color spread.

We didn't see many reds or oranges, except in the RV park.

Mostly everywhere we turned, the aspens were displaying their autumn golds.

 Along the highways....

...and along the rivers we saw the beautiful colors!

We really enjoyed watching the trees going from this....

.....to this!!

Autumn is such a beautiful season, we have a little bit of color here at home, but not much.

Are the leaves changing color in your corner of Blogville yet???

Only this week did I notice the leaves turning... but now every day the change is more and in another couple of weeks, I expect most will be gone! Too much rain here for them to be as beautiful as these though. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  4. We've barely noticed any autumn colors yet ... and wonder if we will ... thinking that all our trees
and Mom Nature here may be quite confused by all the strange weather patterns that have
come before for weeks on end ...

  6. We are going up north for the day tomorrow and are looking forward to seeing the leaves as they are supposed to be at their peak right now. Pretty golden colors you guys had in CO.

  7. We love your autumn golds, and the red and orange on your smart bandanas only enhance the scene, of course. The leaf colours are starting to turn here too, but given this week's gales force winds, the leaves will have a hard time clinging on to the branches.

  8. What beautiful leaves you found on your trip. You two look so cute in your fall-colored bandanas. We're starting to see some color here but there are lots more trees and shrubs that haven't turned color yet.

  9. Lulu: "We don't get much in the way of color changing here ― either the leaves stay on, or they just turn brown and fall right off! Maybe we need to head up to the mountains ..."

  12. Miss Monika showed us lots of Colorado leaves too. It seems your report is correct. *wags* Lucy
Great to see you both out enjoying the beautiful weather and changes in colors. Our leaves have only turned crispy brown and fallen because of no water (rain). But most of them are still green and on the trees. Mommy says it's too early yet, but maybe by the end of the month. XOX Xena
