Welcome to Nature Friday, where we get to meet new friends and share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville. Today I'm here with Prince Charming and his frog Freddie, with a look at all the Water Lilies blooming this Summer at the ABQ Botanic Garden!

Water lilies are one of Mama's favorite flowers.

I guess the ducks would know since they live in the lilies. Water lilies provide shelter for birds, fish and other animals.

Water lilies can be found around the world. They love slow moving or still waters which make lakes and ponds the perfect habitat for them to thrive.

The beautiful flower represents serenity and encourages peace and calm among the chaos of the world....
We think this may be the main reason Mama loves the water lily so much!

Thank you for joining us today as we learned more about the beautiful water lily...Now, you'll have to excuse me, I think Prince Charming may be ready to make a frog leg dinner out of Freddie!
We hope all our friends get out to see some nature this weekend!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE to go to our Hoppity Page.

ReplyDeleteThe lotus, the biggest of the nymphae, is a symbol of promise in Hinduism (and other eastern cultures), because it flowers in beauty despite the swamp from which it rises... These are gawjuss photos!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
When we saw the title of your post, mom started to smile. The water lilies are gorgeous and they are one of her favorite flowers too!
ReplyDeleteYour Prince Charming and frog are pretty funny, we like them. One lake we walk around sometimes has a lot of water lilies, they are very pretty. Even though we have lakes all over the place we rarely spend time around them.
ReplyDeleteThose water lilies are so beautiful. Are you sure you aren't the one that wants to bite the frog leg off, Rosy? BOL!
ReplyDeleteNiece Rosy how adorable you are today. Mama's photos are gorgeous I love the first one with the ducks in the background. I love this sentence: The beautiful flower represents serenity and encourages peace and calm among the chaos of the world....
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this beauty

Java Bean: "Ayyy, we don't seem to have any of those water lilies at the lake in the park where we go! We mostly have reeds and stuff. Plenty of ducks and geese, though!"
ReplyDeleteLulu: "I think there are water lilies in the smaller ponds in the upper part of the park, Bean. We just don't go there very often. Something about 'narrow trails' and 'no shade'."
Java Bean: "What do Mama and Dada need shade for? They have giant hats!"
The water lilies are delightful, I like them a lot, too.
