As Rosy mentioned last week, Mama abandoned us
went on a last minute road trip to Texas and didn't even tell us until right before she left. Luckily, we had Daddy to wait on us take care of us, To be honest (don't tell Mama!), I didn't mind at all. I love Daddy more and he gives us lots of cheese when Mama isn't around!
Anyways....today, Mama is going to show you some more of the pictures she took.

I was overjoyed to pick up my niece in Texas and share a couple of days catching up. One. of the highlights of the trip, in addition to seeing my father, was a trip into Austin. As some of you may already know, I lived in Austin from 1999 until 2013. I can't tell you how nice it was to revisit the area with my niece. It was a treat to see things through the eyes of someone in their mid-twenties who loves the Austin "vibe".
Here are some snaps of our day:
A trip to Noble Joe's coffee "truck"

Except maybe the crazy Self Driving Cars !

Delicious local coffee AND a community focused business.

A little visitor stopping for a sip of condensation...did I mention Austin is HUMID?

A trip to Austin is never complete without a visit to Chuy's.
My niece had never visited the "OG Chuys'" that opened on Barton Spring's Road in 1982, so that's where we landed for lunch.

No other restaurant makes Jalepeno Ranch like Chuy's!

Nothing says Keep Austin Weird better than the Axolotl Mural!

We had such a fun day in Austin, followed by a nice visit with my Dad.
Stay tuned next week for the fun ride home!
While I can't condone her not keeping you informed she does take nice pictures

ReplyDeleteAustin is supposed to be a fun place to visit we have heard. How nice to see your niece and show her a few things and to visit your dad. Mom's niece just moved back home after five years in Iowa. She hopes to get to do some things with her too.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you hit lots of cool spots in Austin with your niece. Thanks for taking us along.
