Thankful and Spooky Training Thursday

Jakey and Rosy here today to give you an update on the Arty and Sunny situation.  Next weekend, we're having a trial, "staycation" trip in CeCe.  In preparation, Arty and Sunny (along with the whole family) have stepped up and we are all spending a big part our days in the same room together in preparation for the tight quarters of CeCe.

Arty and Sunny are stationed(harnessed and leashed, attached to places on different sides of the room) so they can't physically fight. We are happy to report that, as time passes,  their non-barking time together is more than their barking time!

Next weekend we will all be climbing into CeCe and taking an afternoon ride up the coast for a picnic lunch. Then we will head back home, where we will spend the night in our driveway!

Mama and Daddy hope this will give us an idea where still they need work plus, give us an idea on what our daily CeCe routine will be on our Big Pack Thanksgiving Getaway!

One step at a time,  but we are beyond thankful to report they have come a long way in the past few months!!

Thankful for Two Steps Forward

Arty here today with an update on how Sunny and I are getting along.

The good news is when we are on walkies, or sniffing together, we do fine.

We had a little session of "find the cookies" in CeCe the other day, and were doing well until
we weren't actually eating cookies. Then, for some reason, Sunny decided she didn't like my face.

I was a good boy though, and didn't react back which took a LOT of self control. Sunny can sure get loud when she yells at me.

I think that as long as they keep it up, even though we might take one step back, we'll still get those two steps forward!

In other words, we are very thankful for...
One step at a time!

Thankful for Training Walkies

This week Arty and I are thankful for our training walkies!! Mama and Daddy take us out every day to help us get to know each other(and maybe wear us out a bit before we do some more training).

Not only do we get our exercise in, but we can sniff the many smells outside (including each other). Mama and Daddy are pretty pleased on how well it's going.  They know how stubborn we both are though, and expect setbacks along the way.

Rosy joins us occasionally too, the pawrents say she is something called a "distraction" I don't know about that but she definitely make things more fun!

Here's a video so you can see all the fun we have!

You can also watch the video HERE on YouTube

One day at a time but we're happy to report last week had more good days than bad.

The pawrents say that alone is something to be thankful about!!

Thankful for Patience - Training in Progress

This week our pack is thankful for the challenge of getting along.

 Mama...why is HE out here???
Well Sunny, we want to show you Arty isn't as scary as you think he is!

 I don't think he's scary Mama, I just don't like his face!
Well Rosy, we think it's time you and Arty spend more time getting to know each other.

 Will there be cookies involved??
If you are nice and quiet and look at me when I ask, you can have lots of cookies!!

Mama, what is SHE doing out here??
Well Arty, you and Sunny need to start getting along better if we are going to be able to take family vacations. We are going to start with you both hanging out together outside...and then we'll move inside and see what happens.

I'll do my best to be patient Mama, as long as you keep those cookies coming!!

Cookies?? I might take on the challenge of being nice for cookies!!

From Mama: Many of you already know Sunny and Arty do not get along.  For the most part they still  live in different spaces, alternating times to spend with "the pack". We have decided it's time to get Sunny and Arty to a point where they can tolerate each other in a closer space.  We know if we don't introduce them to the idea of living in a smaller space together soon, we may never have peace or get to travel as a full pack in CeCe. Our goal to slowly get them to share a space without constant barking or fear of violence.

We know there is a chance one or the other may always need to be crated and we know they will never be able to be left alone in the same space, but we are determined and thankful for the challenge to be able to live in a more peaceful pack situation.
