Thankful for Black Cats, Dogs and..Birds??

Today is National Black Cat Day. Being a black dog, I think it is important to honor our black felines too. They are often looked over at the shelter because of silly human myths about being bad luck. Sheesh, sometimes humans are soooo silly!!

Mama's childhood cat was a black kitty named Pywacket(after the cat in the the ancient movie Bell, Book and Candle)! She was a snuggle bug and never hurt a flea. OK, she did like to hunt mousies but you can't blame her for that.

That silly raven, Speckles, is behind me, isn't he? He wants me to remind you that black birdies also get a bad rap. Although, the way they bully the other birds at the bird feeder, I can understand why!

But today, we are especially thankful for all the black cats out there!

Remember to spread the word that you shouldn't judge a kitty, puppy, birdy, human or any living thing...by it's color!

Oh yes, I fully support this - my very first kitty was a black catman with a tiny white bib and his name was Tutu Jacques (TJ). Which also reminds me to say never let your baby sister have the responsibility of naming your pet... hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  5. You look so absolutely adorable and so does the big black bird. I love your closing statement and I do wish that our world could come to grips and believe it and and practice it

  6. You represent us black pups well, Rosy. We think it's just crazy that black pets get so overlooked at shelters.
