From The Mama - In search of A New Uncle for Dory

Hi All....My Mommy has a couple of questions this morning for those of you out there that do rescue transport for Golden Retrievers.

Hi all, Dory is getting a new Uncle soon!! My Mom has had three generations of Goldies and has mucho experience in training and raising them. My parents eldest Golden went to the other side of the Rainbow bridge early in the summer and my Dad thinks my Mom is ready for another member of the family. I come from a long line of Dog people, and my Mom and Dad usually have had no less than 3 dogs in the house...and now they are down to just one and want to add a young Golden Retriever (yes, a puppy...although I have TRIED to talk her into an older dog...but she really has her heart set on a male puppy).

I would love to know if anyone in the South Central US knows of any Rescue Golden Puppies that need a home?? We have a bunch of reputable breeders here that I am ready to go to, but wanted to make sure that there were no male puppies without furr-ever homes first.

If you know of anything please email me at beth at ebchristians dot com.

Thank you so much!!

The Mama - Beth

  1. Hi Dory,

I see you have been carving your name into that tree. Cool!

It's terrific that your family wants to adopt a puppy. Have they tried searching on petfinder.com?

  2. We were going to suggest the same thing. Mom says she so understands - she could never live without at least one pup in the house.

  6. Hi Dory
Well as you know we are in the wrong country! Our mum says she so understands your gran wanting a puppy - there is something very special about a puppy.
It would be nice though if there were a rescue available.
It is possible to get a very nice dog and there may be young dogs available too.
Good luck and keep us posted.

  10. I was going to suggest Petfinder also, that is where Mommy found me. How exciting to welcome a new member to your family Dory. A new uncle, I am sure you will help him to adjust. What about Bilbo, will he be so excited?Perhaps he will have to stay in his room for a while when the new Uncle visits. Give him time, I don't like change either. I can't wait to hear more news on this.

  17. That sounds like a good idea as long as you let the little pup know whose house it is right up front. He/she will never catch on to the fact that you are just a little dog.

P.S. I was an only doggie for almost a year and it was very lonely.
