  10. Arcata Marsh is lovely - we didn't realize that was the spot you lived in. Mom has a funny flying story. Years ago, she briefly worked as a pilot for a little commuter airline that did service to Arcata Eureka airport Often it was forecast to be foggy so they couldn't take off from KSFO unless there were at least two reports from other pilots that conditions were better than forecast. These reports, called PIREPS would list the type of plane that reported it. One day while they were delayed due to fog, the dispatcher said "you've got a second PIREP that it's improving!" Mom looked at it and started laughing - under type of airplane it said "guy in restaurant". Apparently one of the passengers waiting to be picked up, who had some aviation knowledge, was trying to "help". They didn't get to go yet, that one didn't count.
