Did you know today is Chinese New Year's Eve??
Tomorrow the Year of the Earth Pig(or Boar) begins! The Earth Pigs are, by nature, honest, sincere, peace-loving and trustful. So I'm thinking the next year is going to be a good one!!
The Chinese New Year is also called Spring Festival. Not necessarily because it is getting warmer outside, but because it happens around the same time as the Chinese solar term called "the Beginning of Spring"

What I want to know is...
Will there be more bacon during the Year of the Pig???
Rosy, you always ask the most important questions.

ReplyDeleteOh yes, and I miss the celebrations that used to happen all around me in Sydney; I had several friends of Chinese and other Far Eastern origin who honoured this holiday. Gongwhe fat choi!!! (Cantonese - tomorrow at my place you will see the Mandarin version!) Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx (who is a 'pig'... but it is said that this will not be a good year for pigs themselves... am bracing myself!)
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh dearest Niece Rosy....your gawgeous photos have rendered Aunty speechless....
