Today we thought we would tell you about a walk Mama and Daddy took through the Redwood Forest a couple of weeks ago.
You may ask yourself why we weren't tagging
along(we sure did)! Mama says, for some reason or another, pups are not allowed in this part of the Redwood National Park. Something about bears and mountain lions that don't want to be friends with us and would much rather enjoy us in a more, well, culinary way.
Needless to say, after hearing this, we were fine with staying home.
Although we have redwood trees all around us, sometimes we forget just how big they are!
Here is Daddy next to a fallen redwood and a little waterfall...
...and here he is on the bridge over the waterfall with a redwood tree right behind him.
The redwood trees sure do make Daddy look tiny!
Mama found a few flowers along their hike too!
There were Monkey flowers....
...and wild Iris's!
Those are some beautimous flowers, Jakey
and look what else she saw:
A huge wild rhododendron...
...with pretty pink flowers!
Redwood forests sure are pretty.
We sure hope Mama and Daddy find one we can hike in soon!!
Show
us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a
picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE

Perhaps it was a good thing you didn't get to visit those Redwoods! We might have lost you, they are HUGE!!!

Oh that is the most beautiful walk, only marred by your absence of you pups. But the photos of your very little Daddy are lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful walk with such beautiful flowers and the Redwoods are just incredible!
ReplyDeleteOnly one word: awwww. Well, one more word: Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYikes bears and lions would be enough to keep me home.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos and OMCs Monkey flowers. I want a back yard full of them.
Hugs to you all and thank you for such pretty poses on the lovely afghan

It looks like a great place to walk but bummer dogs can't go. I guess staying home is better than being dinner for a big animal!
ReplyDeletedaddy looks so tiny I almost missed seeing him and even the ferns are taller than daddy. so glad they did not take you on a leash, the predators might have thought you were bait.... I had not really thought about that, now I can add to my list of fears.. down here we have to watch out for gators.. they don't like dogs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place! We can just imagine the smell of the trees and ferns.
ReplyDeleteSuch an amazing forest! Y'all really look quite snazzy today!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely walk. I've not walked in the redwoods for some time. I think we need to fix that.
ReplyDeleteYou three are such adorable pups.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your peeps. ♥

The wild iris looks like a dragon fly. We are glad you stayed home and stayed safe. Xox Lucy and Xena
ReplyDeleteThe Redwood forests are just glorious!! (Let your pawrents know that bears and mountain lions don't only like tasty little dogs...they may want some peep, too. just sayin'.)
ReplyDeleteOMD, Ma used to visit those ALL the time as a wee lass, and they were her FAVORITES! All kinds of FABulous thingies under a Redwood canopy! And, it's like at least 10 degrees cooler than out of the forest! We never saw any bears or mountain lions in there, butts as Ma remembers, she CAN say that bears DO poop in the woods! BOL!!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
What a beautiful place your pawrents went for a hike. Thanks for taking us along in pictures.
ReplyDeleteWhoa...that tree behind your Dad is some kind of huge. The forest and its plants are all so magical and I hope you guys get to go on a walk there soon.
ReplyDeleteWow! Those are humongous trees! What a beautiful place to visit except for the bear and mountain lions.
ReplyDeleteThis brings back memories to our mom. Her family liked to visit and camp in the Redwood Forests!

Sometimes it's nice for Mamas and Daddys to have a little time to themselves too. ;)
