Michigan Nature Friday - Part 1

Rosy here on this first Nature Friday of August with the first of a three part series of the nature Mama saw when they visited Michigan last month.

This first part is made up of rest stop views along the ride to visit with Daddy's family.

Sometimes I think Mama is as obsessed with Midwestern farms as she is with lighthouses BOL.

Both Mama and Daddy were very impressed with the cleanliness and upkeep of Michigan Rest Areas. In fact, California could learn a BUNCH about rest stop upkeep from Michigan!

When I looked at the pictures of the Michigan rest area flowers on Mama's phone, for a minute I thought they were from Sequoia Gardens!

Just look how cheerful and pretty they are.

From the daisies...

...to the pink summer snapdragons...

 ...and purple snapdragons!

 Mama's favorite was the Lantana.

 Aren't the rainbow colors pretty???

We are glad you could join us today for some Michigan nature views.  Next week I'll share Mama's
pictures from around the Lodge where she and Daddy(and Daddy's family) visited.

We hope your weekend is filled with beautiful views!!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

  2. The flowers and landscape are just gorgeous and you look so summery and pretty, Rosy! Mom has been to Michigan but not since she was about 8 years old, which seems life a lifetime ago.

  3. So very pretty, when this human lived in the Mitten state, she had a garden full of lantana and so loved it ... her favorite part of the state to visit was up north, the Leelanau area.

  4. Such a pretty Lantana flower. And Rosy, you DEFINITELY need to go to Michigan in CeCe and experience those well kept rest areas. Insist!

  5. Those rainbow flowers are our favorite. We have never seen those before. As for the farms, we find them kind of boring because we see them everywhere here in the midwest, but we can see why if you are not from here, they would be interesting.

  7. Niece Rosy OMDs I agree with mom about the beautiful farms and 'lighthouses'!! One of my favorite Vet shows, the Incredible Dr. Pol, comes from Michigan. Thank mom for all the gorgeous photos from Michigan. And Thank goodness you didn't have to share your post with any Michigan Dog....yet

  11. Beautiful indeed. I love the farms too. Okay, I really love lighthouses. Yes California could learn a lot. Our roadsides are awful most of the time.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥

  14. the lantana are beautiful and toxic to cats, dogs and horses. The rest stops in TN have gotten much nicer lately. Maybe it's a trend -- or part of the money handed out by the government. If you ever decide to try the eastern TN rest stops, be sure to let us know and come on by to visit! XOX Lucy, Xena and the Mom who keeps an eye on poisonous plants!
