Not My Imagination on Monday!

Arty here today to tell you about a visitor we had last week..and it wasn't even in my imagination!!

It all started when I was catching up on my backyard patrols...

I alerted Mama to the situation, even though I was pretty sure she wouldn't be happy about it. She shoo-ed us pups inside and, against my better judgement, she went out on her own to investigate!

It was a GINORMOUS SNAKE, I mean it was at least 87 feet long and 87 inches around!!!

YOU OK OUT THERE MAMA??
DID IT EAT YOU??
What do you mean it's only a couple of feet long and not more than an inch or two around??

Looks pretty humungous to me!! Look at those beady little eyes!!

I guess I might have used my imagination a bit when I told Mama how big it was...

Needless to say, it was a little garter snake  and no one was in any mortal danger, except for the snake. So Mama kept us up on the deck until it slithered away....

We sure do have lots of nature at our new house!!

  3. Sorry, couldn't read the post because Mom is terrified of those creatures and can't even see photos as it scares her. She says if we ever go near such a thing and touch it, we can find a new home. How awful to have such a thing in your own yard.

  5. That did look like a huge snake. We can't believe your mom got close enough to take its picture. There have been snakes in our yard too but we don't have to worry about any being poisonous around here.

  8. WOWZERS! I'm glad it wasn't a bad kind of snake! Those ones who carry a maraca around with them are bad news!
You look awesome in camo, Arty!

  10. All snakes look big, no matter how small they might really be! One good thing about having our hens is that they seem to keep the snakes away!

  12. At our house, it would have been the Momster waiting on the deck and us snoopervising the eviction of that snake - and we are NOT Imagining that either.

  13. It's always good to stay away from the snakes, Arty. You never know when you might tangle with one that might poison you.

  17. We believe ALL snakes are 87' long and 87" around. They terrify us and we hope there are any in our new neighborhood. We had enough to last a lifetime at our old house. You were very brave, Arty!!

  19. As long as he isn't the Rattler kind, he is adorables! Yes, Ma does (not mind) likes snakes. I have never seen one. The closest I have come is Larry the lizard, and he apparently doesn't wants to be furiends with me. ☺
I am glads your snake went to go eats the mouses on the other side of the fence!

  20. Yipes! You know, of course, being a bunch of science geeks, my humans would have been fascinated to see a snake like that.

  21. Arty, I think you were very wise to alert your Mama to the presence of a SNAKE (eek!) whatever its size.
And I must say you do look very handsome and macho in your camouflage gear.
