ATTENTION: Special Blogville Announcement

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening my fellow Blogville Residents! Arty here, with Vice-Mayor Mabel. As you may know, we are wrapping up our second term in Blogville.

We are looking to you, the residents of Blogville, for help in structuring Blogville in the future! If you missed our post earlier this year and would like to be the future Mayor of Blogville please leave a note in the comments or send us an email at the address on our sidebar!

You may be asking what responsibilities come with being Mayor? The most important thing is to be, what you might call, Blogville's cheerleader and community announcement center! You can also choose to host community events(but you don't have to)! Also, as the Mayor of Blogville, you would be the Blogville archivist! We would pass along the Blogville Administration and Portrait Hall page for your safekeeping.  We do realize that with Facebook, and Instagram, we don't have as many year long residents of Blogville, so....

...we have another option...

Blogville can be a village led by the citizens.  We would be honored to keep the Blogville Administration and Portrait Hall here at our Blogville House, and every citizen can basically just...keep doing what we're doing. Anyone can still feel free to host an event or be Blogville's cheerleader at any time!

Tell us what YOU want....Blogville is all about having fun in our community, and only you can tell us what you think would be fun.

Please tell us what you would like in the comments!

  2. Dear esteemed Mayor Arty,
You an your administration have done a wonderful job these past two years and for that we are hugely thankful. As you say, communities change and evolve. who knows what the future will hold. But, like YAM-Aunty, Gail and I are totally supportive of moving to a citizen led community, and the Blogville Administration and Portrait Hall remaining with you.
    Toodle pip!

  5. We don't have the time or desire to do anything more right now. It is hard enough for us to just get our daily work done. As you know, losing the star leaves a huge hole, and we are trying to fill is somewhat, but it is zapping all our energies. You all do a great job, and can continue if you as us. Madison

  7. Arty you and Mabel have done such a great job these past two years. It's hard to believe it's been that long already. We're sad that some of our residents have stopped blogging and our numbers seem to have dwindled. If nobody steps up to the job we are okay with keeping the Blogville Administration and Portrait Hall at your Blogville House.

  8. First let me thank you Mayor Arty and your Huggy Puggy Mabel for the most professional and organized way you have run your office. Bravo Bravo...
I am okey dokey fine with whatever you decided and I agree with Millie and Walter....numbers have dwindled due to the instagram, tweets and FB.
I'm fine with housing things at your place.
    Hugs Cecilia

  10. First of all, Mayor Artie, we all want to say thank you for the absolutely wonderful job you and your assistants have done over the last two years. We would be quite content to let you be mayor forever. However, it must be a tiring, time-consuming job.
Although we are also content to keep the mayoral structure the same as it is, we have talked it over and have a thought we want to share. It's a way that some cities now operate and it might work in Blogville, too.

Perhaps have a Blogville Manager who is more the clearing-house for events, etc. Anyone can host an event or hop or whatever, but it needs to go through the Blogville manager first to be sure that it's appropriate and that it doesn't conflict with something else going on that day and that no one else is doing the same event (such as a 4th of July Carnival).
So, we think 1 of 3 things could be the result of this type of government.
    1. There is more creativity and participation among the citizens, or
    2. No one does anything, or the same person feels obligated to do everything because no one else is, or
    3. It works!
Love, Lucy, Xena and the Mom

  13. As new kids in Blogville we feel so proud to be a part of this community.
The friendships we have formed in the short while are amazing and we know we are loved. We are sad when our friends are no longer here.
We feel that Blogville Administration and Portrait Hall documents should remain in your trusted care.

  14. We don't think there are enough words or even the right words to express our HUGE thanks to you for ALL that you do and have done. We never want Blogville to go away, and we are agreeable to whatever everyone wants - and we know we ALL want to keep having fun and the love and support of our pals.

  15. We r afraid that we r 2 of thoze who do not pawtisipate az much az we use to nor az much az we wood like - it'z not that our mom iz that bizy anymore, after all she iz retired now an'most timez haz too much time on her handz which meanz includez our pawz too. She wantz an'needz to fix this.

Anyway, az to the next step fer the Blogville mayoral administrashun. You'all haf dun a most wunnerful job(not to menchun snazzy dresserz) so we tend to agree with the otherz with one dif'rence - wood it b pawsible to keep the current administrashun PLUS add a city manager az Lucy, Xena and the Mom suggested? That wood allow fer u'all to keep up with the administrashun dutiez an'a manager to manage eventz, may-b help out with welcomin'new rezidentz or whatever else mite need managin' Just a thought....
