Welcome to the most special Friday of the month, when Nature Friday and Final Friday Fiction fall on the same day! Click HERE to transport to YAM Aunty's FFF page and read all the entries!
Today I, Rosy, have composed a special sonnet or maybe poem or maybe just a a collection of feelings from my very first trip to visit the Oregon shore....I call it "Beach Smiles"
I used these phrases from Jimmy Buffet's Book,
A Salty Piece of Land p. 87 8) dropped into one of the turquoise
12) our own wind
16) Off the beaten path
The sounds of happy families playing in the sand...
The warm feel of my Daddy's embrace on a chilly morning...
The sound of the birds in the sky on what seems like our own wind made for them...
The sea doggies barking hello before they dropped into one of the turquoise bays
Taking walks with Daddy off the beaten path...
The waves splashing their hello...
The warm sun on my furs...
Trees covering rocky shores...
Wondering why rocks grow in the ocean....
All these things and more give me Beach Smiles...
What makes you smile???
Show
us your nature! It can be a
picture of your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a
picture from a walkie! Any kind of nature picture will do(does not have
to include a pet)!
that is so super beautiful!!! and we would love to live on that island... it's not too far away from mainland so not even the mama can get sea sick... or wait... she can... sigh...
ReplyDeleteYou make us smile Rosy. You and the rest of the LLB gang. How fun to go to the shore.

ReplyDeleteOMD you smashed the FFF challenge and grabbed the nature Friday by the shorts and gave them both a pawsitive airing!!! Hoorrrraahhhhhhh!!!!!! hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
That is such a great Nature/FFF Friday. We are smiling along with you and Gail's smile is especially broad as this post reminds her of her visits to the beaches further north up the Pacific Coast in Washington State. Huge trees right down to the shore are not something we see in our UK coastline, although of course we have many wonderful beaches of our own here.
ReplyDeleteYour beach shots are so beautiful, Rosy! I am hoping that one day, I might go to the beach and experience it too!
ReplyDeleteNice looking beach area. I would want to go in for a swim! No worries, I'm hooking up today. Love your winter hop idea. Works well for us in the frozen Midwest. Madison
ReplyDeleteDearest Niece Rosy... bravo bravo you have given me a serious case of Beach Smiles today. FIrst off I love Jimmy Buffet, OMDs I saw a license plate this week that read "FINZ2RT"....I know you Momma will be able to interpret it for you. I have often wondered the same as you in your Nature friday FFF Sonnet
ReplyDeleteWondering why rocks grow in the ocean....The left coast is 360 degrees different than the Gulf and right coast.
Loving that happy tongue too
Hugs Aunty Cecilia
