Flower Friday

Happy Flower Friday!
Today we are going to take a look at what Sequoia Gardens looks like this Autumn....

The dahlias are drooping...and attracting more moths and bugs.

There is still some beauty tho...

The fuschias seem to thrive throughout the year...

 Dahlia droplets are always pretty...

A few puffy dahlias are still blooming...

Even on a rainy day, dahlias can put a smile on Mamas face.

Usually at this time of the year, we would be moving to the Winter Flower Friday Schedule. This year we are going to try something different and next week we will start
Nature Friday
Where we can share pictures of the weather, a tree, any form of nature(even a flower) to show us the beauty in your corner of Blogville all year round.

This week we lost two very good friends...and want to dedicate this Flower Friday to their memories...

Dennis the Viszla was one of my Angel sister Dory's first friends way back in 2009.  He left for the Rainbow Bridge yesterday to join his packmates, Trixie, Tucker and Kitty Trouble...He leaves his kitty siblings Charlee and Chaplin to continue having adventures.

We were hit very hard by the sudden loss of our good friend Emma the GBGV on Tuesday. I was lucky to meet Emma's Mama and sisters, Bailie and Madison, at the Blog Paws conference last Spring. We know Emma is napping with her sister Katie at the Bridge, but we also know how much her Mama and sisters are missing her.

We are sending love and snuggles to both families.

We know how much Dennis made us laugh and Emma loved to be silly, so our last picture today is of all of us laughing and acting silly on our walk last weekend.

Run free friends...

  4. You are so very kind. I know you still ache from missing sweet Dory. Thank you for mentioning Emma. I hate that she can't even comment on blogs anymore. This is so very hard, but she would want me to march on an carry on her motto of fun, laughter, and happiness. We never knew Dennis, but our hearts go out to his family as well.

  5. I love fuchsias. And here they are used as hedges and rigorously cut down when they get too big. Only to come back bigger and better!

It's always sad to read about friends leaving us.

  10. You sure found some pretty flowers to show us. Nothing is blooming around us right now but the fall colors are starting to pop.

That was a sweet tribute to Dennis and Emma. We will miss both of them very much. Your picture at the end is sure to put a smile on their families faces.

  13. Your flowers are still quite lovely and I like the idea of Nature Friday! This was a very tough week losing both Dennis and Emma. They may be gone, but definitely never forgotten. 💔 Nice tribute.

  14. We so love your droplet dahlia and rainy dahlia photos!!! So pretty. But of course, the prettiest of allis Miss Rosy!

We didn't know Emma but we send our deepest sympathy to her family. Dennis was also one of our first blog pals. He always made us laugh and smile, even if sometimes we didn't really follow his "tales". He survived a very rough early life in the desert and found himself in such a wonderful and loving home. We know how much his Dada and Mama must be missing him. Soft woos and gentle hugs to the families of Emma and Dennis.

  16. Oh yes, the gardens are still so beautiful! We love the idea of Nature Friday, since our flowers are all gone for now.
We are so sad about Emma and for her family as well. We didn't really know Dennis, but I would sometimes see his comments on other blogs and they always made me laugh! That last photo is perfect.
