ABQ Aquarium Fishies


 
 
Howdy and Happy Nature Friday!
As I mentioned yesterday, Mama stopped by the Albuquerque Aquarium last week. It looks like a small aquarium but it has everything from the river otters we showed you yesterday to jellyfishies we'll show you in a later post!
 

 
 Check out the "Koi like"  handles on the entrance door, cool right??
 
 
 
The first part of the aquarium has local fish and turtles



 
 

 Like this shovel nose sturgeon.
 
 
 


 
 ...and this Diamondback Turtle
 
 

 
Then, if you follow these dolphins....
 
 
 
 
You travel to the ocean!
 

 
 This Spanish Hogfish greeted Mama and showed her around....
 
 
 
 First he showed us his cousin, the regular Hogfish. 
Wow, they don't look at all alike, do they?
 
 
 
 
 Then he pointed Mama across the hall to where Nemo was hiding!
(Yes, Mama found Nemo BOL)

 
 
 
 Then he told Mama to make sure to look at the Dragons on the way out....
 
 
 
 Sea dragons that is!

 
 
 
 I hope you enjoyed a look around at the fishies in the 
ABQ Aquarium. I have a feeling we'll be showing a few more of the pictures Mama took there in the coming weeks!


In the meantime, we hope you get out and enjoy some nature this weekend!

    Rosy, these are just wonderfurs - your mama made a fine job of photographing them - and I lost myself reading up on on the Shovel-nose Sturgeon, which I did not know existed before this post! I surely look forward to seeing more from this visit. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

    of course I enjoyed every single photo, Princess. I have never seen a shovel nose sturgeon, not even a photo. wow. and the most favorite of all are the koi handles. awesome. so much beauty so little time to view and photograph it. wish I had been with your mama. what a wonderful place to visit

    Niece Rosy OMDs Mama found a treasure of fun at the aquarium. Koi handles and the shovel nose sturgeon now that is one fish mama and daddy probably don't want to encounter on any of their underwater adventures. Finding Nemo. BOL BOL

    Some of those creatures were very unique and things we've never seen before like those dragons. Thanks for taking us along on your mom's visit to the aquarium.

    Lady likes the sea dragons best, although she admits, sea creatures freak her out a bit. We really like the beach theme you have going on. It has been so dark and grey and wintery. Lee and Phod who are wondering why we don't hibernate.
