Howdy
effuryone! Welcome to Nature Friday, where we can meet some new friends
and maybe share a picture or two of what nature looks like around
Blogville. Spring has really been Springing around here lately, in the past two weeks color has been popping up all over the place!! Mama took so may pictures, we've broken this up into two parts so your eyes don't get tired. This week let's show you our pretty bushes.
Starting with the sweet smelling lilacs,
These are pictures of the same lilac bush. The lighting on a rainy day gives them a lavender
color.
When the sun comes out a little you can see the transformation begin
..and in the morning sun, their color gets even richer.
Plus, they smell soooooo good!!
Next let's move on to our pinky pink bush!
Our pink bush is usually first to bloom and this year was no different. Mama thinks it is some kind of Ornamental Flowering Almond shrub, but doesn't know exactly what kind of bush it is for sure.
It's pretty cool to watch the green leaves grow under the pink blooms.
Here's a closer look.
These only are in bloom for a short time, and are already more leaves than flowers. We savored every day of powder pink we had!
Thanks for joining us for a look at the Spring Blooms in our backyard. Next week we'll be joining YAM Aunty a with FFF post and we'll be back the first Friday in May with the rest of our backyard blooms!
Show
us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of
your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey!
Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below,

ReplyDeleteOh, I can almost smell that Lilac, I swear it!!! Gawjuss... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Lilacs are mom's favorite thing in the spring. We always have to stop on our walks for her to sniff, which is really funny. She never cares about sniffing for critters like we do.
ReplyDeleteRosy you are a powder pink pup for sure! you look amazing in pink and in front of pink and on pink.. Now I can see why the color lilac comes in so many different shades. your lilacs change with light and with time. gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNiece Rosy I want to tell you a deep dark secret....:::::please don't tell the color red....but Aunty has a new favorite color lavender:::..well they are both #1 and depending on the situation one might be more favorite than the other
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these Nature snaps
Hugs Aunty C
You sure have lots of beautiful flowers in your yard, Rosy. We can't wait to see what else is blooming there too.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to shove my nose in a Lilac flower and we used to have a Flowering Almond and I think you're right. It did look just like that.

ReplyDeleteThat pink flower is verty pretty, such a nice "rosy" shade:). Our MOm wishes lilacs could bloom all summer with that sweet, sweet smell. Our Dad can't be anywhere near them or the sneezing begins. Guess that's why there are none in our yard.
Happy weekend

Lilacs blooming this early in Denver is unheard of! Yours are amazing and we can practically sniff that luscious scent. I think you're right about that being an ornamental almond but beyond that I have no clue. Used to have one when I first moved into this house but it eventually perished under my black thumb. 😉 Have a great spring weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are sure pretty but you are the prettiest bloom sweet Rosy!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the lovely blooms.
ReplyDeleteYou live in a most beautiful part of the world!
ReplyDeletePretty in pink! Lee and Phod who are happy spring is springing!
ReplyDeleteI love love love lilac but that pink bush is remarkable too. Some years ago I flew into Stockholm in the season that lilac was flowering and remember seeing huge hedges of it surrounding houses and parks all the way across the countryside.
ReplyDeleteThat pink "bush" has your Mom "stumped." BOL, I made a funny, Rosy. XOX Xena
ReplyDeleteLulu: "Those lilacs are beautiful! Dada says he remembers lots of lilacs around his house when he was little!"
