Happy June!! We have had some gorgeous, bright sunny weather here in New Mexico for the past week and have been having so much fun in our backyard. This made us think....We are thankful for so many things in our backyard, maybe we should spend a few Thursdays showing you all some of them!
Today, we want to say how thankful we are for the backyard fountain! Even after freezing up during the freezy cold temperatures this past Winter, it is back to being a beautiful place for photo shoots
AND....
A birdy water cooler and public pool!
Birdies from far and wide come to get a cool sip of water during the warm dry days.
They especially enjoy...
Mondays and Wednesdays when we throw in a free shower (the sprinklers)!!
Through the magic of Mama's new trail camera, today we have a short movie featuring Henry the House Wren taking a nap
(look for more birdy clips on Wednesdays this Summer):
It's the Otterly Adorable Sisters, along with our friend Ollie, here to wish you a very happy World Otter Day! Here in New Mexico we don't have any Ocean Otters, but we do have River Otters!
After being extinct in NM for a long time, it's nice to know they are back in our area! We haven't seen them in the wild yet, but Mama goes to see them at the Aquarium every times she visits!
We need to make sure to do our best to help them be safe. It doesn't take much, have your humans pick up your poopies so the rain doesn't wash it into the rivers....and don't litter!
Here are a couple of the otters having a snuggle nap fest!
No wonder they sleep a bunch, underwater zoomies must be exhausting!
Mama made a little video of these cuties during her Aquarium visit last week:
Happy Tongue Out Travel Tuesday! Today, I am going to show you the rest of my horse encounter, along with showing you around Lin's Mini Acres Farm, formerly known as Pleasant Journey Alpacas.
When we arrived at the farm, it was pretty stormy. After a couple of hours though, it stopped raining and we were able to get out and look around!
You could see the beginning of the Rocky Mountains from the farm. Look at all the snow still on the mountain peaks!
Here is a picture of the barn, that's CeCe parked right next to it so she could have some electricity(and we could have lights and heat).
Once the sun came out, Mama and Daddy took a tour of the farm!
(it was pretty muddy, so we stayed in CeCe)
Mama wants to say this is a Shetland sheep but isn't sure. It was smaller than most sheep and has cute little
tiny ears. It had just had its furs cut the week before.
This is a Miniature Zeb, this little cow is about as tall as a Great Dane, and as friendly as a Golden Retriever! His significant other, a female, was about the same size but much more reserved!
You want to see the animal Sunny and I liked the most???
It's a KITTY!!! This pretty girl kept hanging around CeCe and greeting Mama and Daddy. She might have been the friendliest barn kitty the pawrents have seen in awhile, but we made sure to bark at her LOUD so she didn't try to stowaway on CeCe!
Before we go any further, here is a video Mama made with ALL the pictures, and video. You'll see my horse encounter highlighted towards the end.
Now, here was Mama's favorite animal....The Alpaca
She says she would love to have one for her very own.
HA! We let her know we would bark at it ALL.THE.TIME if she tried to bring one home. BOL!
We're going wordless for these....cause Mama took a million pictures of them
🙄🙄🙄
See what I mean, so many Alpacas....so little time!
We hope you liked seeing the farm as much as we enjoyed visiting. We would definitely visit another alpaca farm and would love to go back and see Lin's kitty again!
Welcome to the wonderful Friday each month where Nature Friday comes together with YAM Aunty's FFF!! Make sure to visit YAM Aunty HERE to get the Rulez and join the FFF fun!!
Road Trip Fun
by Rosy
Today is National Road Trip Day
A perfect time to have my say!
Last weekend's road trip took us to a farm,
saw tons of animals, not a one harmed!
Alpacas and sheep, goats and some cows,
getting close to most of them, we were not allowed.
But we did see one animal, that now is my fave,
The memories of them are some I will save.
You may have guessed already, by the picture of course,
the animal I speak of must be a horse!
These girls were special and danced without end,
now I am lucky enough to call them my friends.
Stop by Tuesday for something not to miss,
one of them bent down....and almost gave me a
???
Stay tuned!

The weather is warming up here in New Mexico and the flowers are blooming everywhere. Mama visited the Botanic Garden last week to see what she could see and share for Nature Friday.
The leaves are filling in, pretty soon this walkway will be fully shaded.
Pretty Snow Drop flowers lined one side of the walkway...
...and pretty purple-y pink tulips lined the other side. This one is more pink...
....and this one is more purple-y!
Mama found some Yellow Irises on her way to the Arboretum.
They had lots of pretty flowers inside the arboretum too!
Colorful orchids and anthurium were everywhere.
There were bouquets of yellow Clivia Lily
....and Orange Clivia Lily too!
This little Spring display was one of Mama's favorite find this visit!
Thank you for letting us share some of Mama's flower pictures.
We hope you all get a chance to smell some flowers this weekend!
